Singing and dancing time

Music ignites all areas of a childs development, it helps the body and mind work together. We provide weekly opportunities for children to take part in music and dancing activities, enabling them to grow in confidence and develop their social, physical and communication skills. We also provide moo music sessions every other week for our younger ones at no extra cost.

Exercise and A STAR SPORTS

Children are provided with daily physical activities to help promote the importance of healthy living and keeping fit. We also provide regular cosmic kids yoga sessions as we believe introducing yoga at an early age through playful activities is a great way to boost healthy living, helping them to become calmer and better able to concentrate and focus.Every week we provide the older children an A Star Sports session with coach Gary at no extra costs.

Outdoor play

Playing outside gives your child the chance to explore the natural environment and have adventures, outdoor play also means more mess and often more mess means more fun!. Being outside also means your child has more space and freedom for big movements like running, jumping and skipping ect. Outdoor play is highly promoted here and the children have access to a large outdoor area including our FOREST school area and our growing spaces garden.

Sensory room

We are pleased to announce we have added a new sensory area to our setting. This is enables our little ones the comfort of a quiet space when needed and explore the sensory resources around them.

Makaton

Makaton is a language programme that uses signs together with speech and symbols, to enable children to communicate. It supports the development of essential communication skills such as attention, listening and expressive speech and language. At our setting we implement makaton through singing, stories and circle time activities. We have experience and knowledge of using makaton as a form of communication if your child communicates on a daily basis through makaton we are able to support and meet the childs needs.

Free play

At Olive Tree Preschool we believe in providing both adult led activities whilst continuing to allow enough time for the children to engage in free play.Allowing children that time to engage in free play is important for healthy brain development, allowing them to use their creativity while developing their imagination, dexterity, cognitive and physical abilities.

We are a diverse setting who enjoys promoting British values by celebrating festivals and events from different cultures through activities and play.

We have many years experience of looking after children and helping and supporting them through their development milestones. Each child is an invidual and will progress at their own rate, no child is the same ! When your child starts We will carry out a baseline of your child's development with the following information- parent input, keyworker knowledge and welcomm screening.Welcomm screening is a toolkit which is used by many professionals within the early years , it can be used for children aged between 6 months to 6 years of age. It helps identifying any areas of concern in language, communication and interaction. Welcom screening is carried out in a fun and engaging way, either by enjoying our picture book or carrying out specific activities.During your child's time here we will complete their baselines, complete 2 year checks and provide you with a brief progress summary at the end of each term.
